Congratulations Ariza
In a very interesting final, our friend Ariza overcame to Argentinean players and he is the new Champion of Ajedrez Jubilado. The second and third positions haven't settled yet, when only 1 game of 110 is still playing, but the gold has been reached by Spain.
It is possible that this event wasn't as massive as World FIFA Cup or Wimbledon Championship, however it is obviously than our Spanish friends don't stop in their sports victories.

Planned shutdown at Sat 24th
This Saturday 24th we will stop the server during two hours for making software upgrade.
The shutdown will start at 6:00 (hour of Buenos Aires, check your local time) and we will return the service two hours later approximatively.

Congratulations to Spain
Opengames greets to Spanish people by their victory in the world cup 2010 which they have won thanks a good play and a great fervor. They have gotten into the elite group of world cup winners.
Amazing game! The good play and the octopus Paul were on their side. We, the rest of football fans of the world, must waiting for 47 months to the next world cup. About Latin-Americans, the excellent performance of Uruguay is a proud for us. Hence, Opengames also greets to Uruguay for his fourth place and Diego Forlan, who won the gold ball.July 11, 2010
Server Problems (Jun 11)
We think the server went to see the repetition of South Africa - Mexico and Uruguay - France matchs, and opengames did not work since Friday at 21:45 to Saturday at 6:00 (Buenos Aires hour).
We apologize by that. The server now runs ok and we hope the service will work normally regardless of today's games.

Rules for June Chess Tournament
On June 4, the June Chess Tournament will be started by Opengames.
This tournament is open and free, anybody who wants will be able to participate.The only requirement is to be opengames.com.ar user and register in the tournament page.

News from Malaga
Our friendAriza has sent us a picture showing the diploma which was given by Opengames team, due to be runner-up of the first torneo de Ajedrez Jubilado.
The first Retired Chess Tournament has stayed in our house
After 122 games and 6 months, Néstor has gotten the first torneo de Ajedrez Jubilado, thanks to a brilliant performance where he has won to several strong players.
Opengames in Català
After a hard work from our friend xavimv, we announce the availability of playing in Catalan language.
Catalan is the third language that is available in Opengames, and the first which is added after 16 months of life (English and Spanish are working from beginning), hence, it is a very important event for us.
